Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas was introduced by Rajiv Gandhi former prime minister of India in year 1986 and concept of opening a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is providing excellence education in every district of country. During year 1985-86 only two Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas established at Jhajjar (Haryana) and Amravati (Maharashtra). Now 2020-21 academic session Jawahar Navodaya schools has been build up more than 600 districts. Navodaya Vidyalayas run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti which is independent organization under Ministry of Human Resource Development of School Education and Literacy Govt of India.
An entrance exam designed, developed and conducted by CBSE for admission of Class VI at Navodaya Vidyalaya School. This exam will be conducted every year throughout country. Only 80 students have been selected for each Jawahar Navodaya School. Candidates can apply only for above entrance exam who completed class V. Huge number of candidates can apply entrance exam every year and only 2% students will be selected by committee. Navodaya Schools give reservations for ST and SC. 75% selection of students from rural areas and balance 25% students from urban areas. To utilize balance seats, JNVST is also conducted admission for class IX.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exam has been conducted every year Admission for class VI.
